As Spider-Man’s identity is revealed, Peter Parker (Holland) is in danger. Parker seeks the help of Doctor Strange (Cumberbatch), attempting to make the world forget he is Spider-Man using a spell, which goes horribly awry, resulting in chaos as Spider-Man’s past enemies from other universes are unleashed into his. With help from his friends, he truly realises the responsibility and hardships of reality being Spider-Man.

The Spider-Man adventures continue with “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” the third in the series where Tom Holland plays the hero. The last we see of his character in “Spider-Man: Far From Home,” (which closes on a cliff-hanger) is as his identity is divulged by the villain Mysterio in a video recorded before his death, which is broadcast on the news on a big screen in New York. This film segues seamlessly from where the last stopped, going straight into the action from the beginning. With Peter and his loved ones in trouble due to his identity being revealed, he goes to Doctor Strange for help. After some convincing, Strange agrees to use a spell, one that will make everyone forget that he is Spider-Man. Worried about him having to reveal his identity to his friends and family once again, he has Strange change the spell multiple times, which causes it to go horribly wrong, resulting in Spider-Man’s past enemies from other universes coming into his, including Doctor Octopus and Green Goblin. With these villains, he and his friends gear up for the biggest battle Spider-Man has ever faced.

Tom Holland’s performance in this third film is exceptional, reprising his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. As Parker’s problems have got more and more strenuous through the years, Holland has never failed to fully embody the character, making him much more realistic and easier to connect with. The director Watts does very well with this film, as he has effectively developed the characters throughout the series, especially now as the stakes have never been higher for Peter Parker. He has developed the characters in a gradual and realistic way, which makes their journey more meaningful and emotional. Watts has successfully grown each of the characters, making them more mature and prepared for their challenges.

There are lots of scenes in this film that I love, so much that it’s hard to pick just one. However, there’s one scene around the midpoint of the film that never fails to tug at the heartstrings, one where there is a horrible tragedy, leaving the main characters devastated. It’s a heart-breaking and emotionally charged scene, which on its own is monumental enough, but it creates momentum, driving the plot of the rest of the film, making it much stronger.

I love this film as it has so much packed into it, lots of action, highs, lows, and even surprises. So, if you’re a fan of Spider-Man and Marvel, this film will definitely not disappoint (just remember the tissues!)

Be prepared to feel all the emotions with the next film in the web-slinging hero’s trilogy.
